Alexander Bourne has over 18 years as an educator. During this time he has taught mathematics, education courses and business related courses at Knox College, Knox Community College, The Management Institute for National Development and Church Teachers College. He currently serves as the Principal of Knox College and as a member of the executive of the Jamaica Association of Principals of Secondary Schools (JAPSS).
In addition to his teaching and administrative roles, he has also served as a mathematics resource teacher for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information (MOEYI); in this role he has presented at numerous workshops for both teachers and students across the island as well as consulted on a number of national educational projects.
He is also an author and has worked on the preparation of a number of technology based solution strategies to improve the teaching and learning of mathematical and other content.
Along with a Diploma in Education, he has earned undergraduate qualifications in Mathematics, Accounting and Financial Management; he has also earned a master’s degree in Education and is currently completing a doctoral degree in Education Leadership.
