Romain Stewart has been an Academic Adviser and a Lecturer in Physics, Engineering Physics and Static Mechanics in the Department of Computer and Technical Studies at the Montego Bay Community College (MBCC) since 2009. Mr. Stewart supervises final year undergraduate Engineering research at the International University of the Caribbean – Sir Howard Cooke Campus. He holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies (UWI) – St. Augustine and has experience working as a Support and Design Mechanical Engineer.
Mr. Stewart has taught Physics up to the Advanced Level at his alma mater – Campion College. He has also taught 9th through to 11th grade Physics at the Immaculate Conception High School where he wrote a much needed 9th grade Physics text book and started, and since completed, his studies in a Post Graduate Diploma in (Science) Education and Training with the HEART Trust VTDI. In 2013, Mr. Stewart attained a B.Sc. in Psychology from the UWI – Mona for which he received a valedictorian nomination. He has recently started to lecture in Psychology at the MBCC and has begun further studies in Counselling Psychology. His current research interests include: using personality as a predictor variable, exploring driving styles in Jamaica, modifying behavior in troublesome and troubled adolescents and identifying science course prerequisites.
