This presentation proposes strategies for transforming encounters into relationships that are not only beneficial to organizations but the wider community and society. The notion of forging relationships to advance human societies, whether the focus is on business, education or other social interactions continues to be relevant and topical. The whole concept of the Community College, rests heavily on the fostering of relationships hence the idea of not only locating a school in a community but ensuring that it caters to the needs of and enhances the lives of the persons in that community. The presentation will examine the relationship-centredness of Community Colleges and suggest ways in which bonds can be forged and coalitions and alliances built. It will also highlight the critically important fact that ultimately, relationships are established by people who in turn build organizations.
